How low fog from a FOS smoke machine works — without dry ice
FOS Water Low FOG 2000 is an ultrasonic smoke machine: piezoelectric discs in a water tank break the water into a mist, and a fan blows it through a nozzle as low fog at floor level. No dry ice or CO₂ required.
- Water and liquid separately. The main tank holds approx. 10 l of water — that is two 5 l canisters; without water the unit does not work. A separate tank holds a water-based liquid, e.g. FOS Fog Liquid CO2.
- Liquid selection. According to the manufacturer, with a "CO2 simulation" type liquid the room does not fill with smoke and the effect remains low fog; a Professional type liquid gives the strongest effect, but the smoke then spreads across the room.
- Warm-up approx. 3.5 minutes. Switch on the unit with time to spare before the first dance.
- Control. From the panel on the unit, with a radio remote, or via DMX (2 channels: fan speed and smoke output).
- Indoor use only. We rent it for indoor weddings, not outdoor events.

The effect depends more on the venue than on the unit itself.

It is best to test the setup in the same venue where the first dance will take place. If the venue is available the day before, you can rent the unit for two days (24h): the second day (24h) costs 50% of the rate, 675 zł net in total.
What to arrange with the venue before the wedding
Before you book the unit, ask the venue about:
- Approval for smoke effects. Ideally in writing, e.g. in an e-mail from the venue.
- Smoke detectors. The venue manager and the fire protection system service decide on the smoke detectors; we do not interfere with the smoke detectors. Questions for the venue and the procedure are described in the smoke detectors section on the website smoke machine rental in Warsaw.
- Air conditioning and ventilation. Whether air conditioning or ventilation is running above the dance floor during the first dance. The manufacturer recommends operating the unit in a well-ventilated area.
- Space for the unit. A floor position to the side of or behind the dance floor, at least 0.5 m from flammable materials, a grounded outlet nearby, and a path for the hose along the floor, away from the guest walkway.
- Entry time. What time we can bring the unit in and what time the venue is free for collection — especially when the wedding finishes late.
Setting up the unit on the wedding day
- The unit stands on the floor only, on its own wheeled case; lock the wheel brakes.
- Fill the main tank with water up to the marked maximum level, and the fluid tank with water-based fluid.
- Secure the hose and power cable against tripping.
- According to the manufacturer, the water from the tank should be drained after each use.
Mirror ball and lighting at the wedding

According to the safety data sheet, FOS Fog Liquid CO2 contains propylene glycol (propane-1,2-diol) below 30% and is not classified as hazardous. It is not intended for consumption, and the manufacturer recommends adequate ventilation; spilled fluid is to be cleaned up with absorbent material.
Can low fog (heavy smoke) be used outdoors, e.g. at a garden wedding?
No. The unit has an IP20 protection rating and the manufacturer designed it for indoor use only, which is why we offer it for rental exclusively for indoor weddings and do not offer it for outdoor events.
How much fluid and water is needed for a wedding?
The main tank holds approx. 10 l of water — two 5 l canisters — while the water-based fluid, such as FOS Fog Liquid CO2, is poured into a separate tank.
