A hazer, a heated smoke machine and an ultrasonic low fog machine run on different fluids. Using the wrong fluid can damage the machine and void the warranty, which is why we use the fluid specified by the manufacturer in each device. Net prices per 5 l canister, from the cheapest:

How to choose fluid — three questions
- What machine is it? You will find the manufacturer and model on the device label and in the manual; these determine the fluid.
- What type? A hazer produces a fine mist, a smoke machine — short bursts of smoke, and a low fog (heavy smoke) machine — haze at floor level. Each type has its own fluid; FOS Water Low FOG 2000 runs on water and a water-based fluid.
- How many canisters? Consumption depends on the device and setting — manufacturer data is provided in the questions below.

What is smoke machine fluid made of
According to the Smoke Factory safety data sheet, this manufacturer's fluids are a mixture of polyhydric alcohols (polyols). FOS Fog Liquid CO2 is, according to the manufacturer, a fast-dispersing water-based fluid; its safety data sheet lists propane-1,2-diol (propylene glycol) below 30% in the composition. Original manufacturer fluid
We sell original Smoke Factory fluids (Tour Hazer Fluid and Super Fog) and FOS Fog Liquid CO2. Smoke Factory states that non-original fluids or additives clog the heating element and void the manufacturer's warranty. The FOS Water Low FOG 2000 manual permits water-based fluid and lists a "CO2 simulation" type fluid as one of the options. You may use your own fluid in a rented machine only if it is the original fluid from its manufacturer — we confirm this at the time of the order.

Which fluid for which machine?
For Tour Hazer II — exclusively Smoke Factory Tour Hazer Fluid. For Captain D. and Spaceball II smoke machines — fluids from the manufacturer's list, including Super Fog. For the FOS Water Low FOG 2000 low fog (heavy smoke) machine — water-based fluid, e.g. FOS Fog Liquid CO2, and water in the main tank. For a different model, check the fluid list in its manual or write to us, providing the manufacturer and machine model.
How much does smoke machine fluid cost?
A 5 l canister costs net: FOS Fog Liquid CO2 5L (for the FOS low fog (heavy smoke) machine) — 90 zł, Smoke Factory Super Fog Fluid 5L — 180 zł, Smoke Factory Tour Hazer Fluid 5L (hazer fluid) — 220 zł. VAT 23% is added to net prices.
Can Tour Hazer Fluid be used in Captain D. or Spaceball II?
No. In the Captain D. and Spaceball II manuals, the manufacturer lists, among others, Fast Fog, Super Fog, Heavy Fog and Designer Fog, and Tour Hazer Fluid does not appear on those lists. Tour Hazer Fluid is intended for the Tour Hazer II hazer. Hazer fluid is not used in a smoke machine.
Is Super Fog suitable for Tour Hazer II?
No. For Tour Hazer II, the manufacturer allows only Tour Hazer Fluid, and describes Super Fog on its website as incompatible with Tour Hazer. Using the wrong fluid may damage the device and void the warranty. Super Fog is on the manufacturer's list for the Captain D. and Spaceball II smoke machines.
What fluid and what water for FOS Water Low FOG 2000?
FOS Water Low FOG 2000 is an ultrasonic low fog (heavy smoke) machine, without dry ice or CO2. Into the main tank you pour water — approx. 10 l, up to the marked level; without the correct amount of water the device does not operate. Into the separate, white tank you pour water-based fluid; as one of the options the manufacturer lists a "CO2 simulation" type fluid, with which the room does not fill with smoke and the fog stays at floor level. We have demineralised water in a 5 l canister in our shop for 25 zł net. After use, the manufacturer requires you to drain the water from the tank.
Can a substitute or fluid from another brand be used in a Smoke Factory machine?
No. In the Spaceball II and Captain D. manuals, the manufacturer allows only original Smoke Factory fluids: a foreign fluid or additives clog the heating element and result in warranty loss. This also applies to FOS Fog Liquid CO2 fluid — it is intended for the FOS machine, not for Smoke Factory. The manufacturer also prohibits cleaning agents and citric acid.
How long does a 5 l canister last?
It depends on the device and the setting. According to the manufacturer, a 5 l canister in Tour Hazer II lasts approx. 83 hours of operation at the 40% setting. Smoke machines consume fluid faster: Captain D. according to the manufacturer uses 120 ml per minute at full power and 35 ml per minute in continuous smoke mode, Spaceball II — 60 ml and 15 ml per minute. For a longer event, plan a reserve; write what equipment you have and how long it needs to run, and we will help you calculate the number of canisters.
How to store the fluid?
According to the Smoke Factory safety data sheet, store the fluid in closed, clean and dry containers, at a temperature up to 60 °C, away from oxidisers and strong bases. The FOS Fog Liquid CO2 safety data sheet recommends the original container, a dark and ventilated location, and a temperature of 5–35 °C. Spilled Smoke Factory fluid makes the floor slippery, so wipe it up immediately and keep it away from the device's electronics.
Is smoke machine fluid harmful?
According to the manufacturers' safety data sheets, Smoke Factory fluids and FOS Fog Liquid CO2 fluid are not classified as hazardous. The fluid is not intended for consumption; the effect of smoke on health is covered in the FAQ on the smoke machine rental page.
Do you issue an invoice and how can the fluid be picked up?
Yes, we issue a VAT invoice to a company or personally; prices are quoted net, with VAT 23% added. You can pick up the fluid in Gocław (Wał Miedzeszyński 646 b. III), personal pickup costs 0 zł, or you will receive it together with rented equipment. Delivery of fluid only is quoted in the offer.
